Project: Power and Politics
Engaging the audience in the political discussion is a key part of the CBC News talkshow ‘Power and Politics’. Viewers are regularly invited to take part in the program’s political conversations using social media, with live comments shown on air.
CBC News uses STORY for the daily show as well as specials, like debates and interviews, to select live comments from Facebook, Twitter and email, and display the moderated messages in lower 3rds and bugs.
CBC ask their audience to share their thoughts on key topics via the CBC Politics Facebook page and on Twitter using the #PnPcbc hashtag. STORY is used to gather, filter and moderate the content to make sure it meets CBC’s guidelines before publishing to air.
