How We Ran a Social Competition on Twitter

To celebrate the release of our Competitions Management Module, we ran a contest to give away an Amazon Echo Dot.

The requirements were simple; post a Tweet which included both our handle @neverno and the hastag #echodot. Using STORY we set up a search to gather all Tweets which included the handle and hashtag. As an added feature, we had a direct response feature setup to automatically Tweet a reply to anyone who entered.

After the entries closed last we automatically generated a winner out of all the entries. The winning message had to contain the word 'win'. Our system randomly selected the winner which was Roy from Oslo. Congrats Roy!

STORY can also generate analytics reports which is helpful for competitions which have compliance requirements.

While our competition was just for digital, our technology can be used to extend the competition for live broadcast and advertising.
