Project: Latin Grammys

 
Univision, the USA’s largest Spanish-language broadcaster, wanted to include viewer comments and interactivity in their broadcast of the Latin Grammy Awards.

Univision publicized the hashtag #latingrammy which viewers included in their tweets. The never.no Interactivity Suite was used to harvest these tweets as well as messages containing artist mentions, tweets from relevant celebrities and commentators, and other relevant terms being discussed on Twitter and Facebook. Univision producers selected the best tweets in addition to posts from Univision’s official Facebook page, and then published on air in a lower third during artists’ acceptance speeches.

Never.no’s new ‘What’s Trending’ toolkit was used to count the number of times Latin Grammy nominated artists were mentioned on Twitter and publish the names of the most frequently mentioned artists in a word cloud infographic. The word cloud feature reflected the overall hot topics and conversations surrounding the Grammys broadcast.
