Festive Interactive Experience at Oslo City
We had the privilege together with Urban View to deliver an interactive Christmas experience at Oslo City, Oslo’s largest shopping center. In the days leading up to Christmas Day, visitors were able to display a personal greeting to other shoppers in the mall by uploading photographs and images via multimedia messaging service (MMS) to giant display screens.
Oslo City’s usual digital signage mix of commercials and information messages was enhanced with regular three-minute interactive slots, creating frequent attention-grabbing interludes in which viewers could see what other shoppers had posted, and post their own pictures. never.no’s Interactivity Suite allows an operator to modify content before it is displayed.
Our solution for digital signage was specially adapted to integrate with the Adobe® Flash®-based display engine used in the Oslo City signage system. We created Christmas-themed templates for displays, inviting shoppers to participate and create their own personalized picture messages. The solution was ready to go live, right out of the box.
“never.no provided a thoroughly effective proof of concept with this project,” said Henrich Primrose, Urban View CTO. “The timeline for implementing the solution was very short, but the result was a great enhancement to the usual digital signage experience in Oslo City, creating extra interest and visitor involvement around the screens during the peak of pre-Christmas shopping activity.”
It was great to be able to provide something extra at such short notice to the seasonal experience at Oslo City. It shows how easily and quickly the never.no solution can be adapted to power a novel and topical extension of the digital signage mix, adding impact to the medium and creating additional commercial value.
